Hoover Lightweight Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner- U4730

The $113 alternative to the $500 Oreck Upright!
We have an Oreck upright for our home and considered getting another for our office, but couldn't justify the price for the amount of use it would get in the office. Found this unit on Amazon for about $113 shipped (Prime) and thought it would be a cheap knockoff, with half the performance.

Well, it is a cheap knockoff, but with the SAME OVERALL PERFORMANCE AS IT'S $500 COUNTERPART. Albeit heavier than the Oreck, the performance from carpet to tile floors is excellent. Dog hair on black area rugs is 100% picked up (we have our two Corgis at the office with us)! They are both pretty loud, but I think the hoover may be a bit quieter. Changing the bag is a snap with no mess. The bag that came with it was not HEPA, and I am not sure if they are available or not. Do not really think HEPA is necessary, but those who have allergies may think differently. One more thing, the bag fills from the top, which makes for a fuller bag and less changes, than the old bottom fill style...

Hoover lightweight vacuum
Received the vacuum as promised. It is a good weight, expecially for senior citizens, picks up great for a lightweight upright, works well on wood and carpet. Very happy with my purchase. Amazon had the cheapest price, could not belive they had it so much cheaper than other sites.

blows circuits
When using this V, it pops the breaker. Tried in different plugs. Went on fixya.com: says you need 20 amps to run the V. Most homes have 15 amp circuits for plugs. SO WHY make a V for homes; that requires more ampage. My 80 yr old neighbor bought this in good faith 5 months ago: she got taken advantage of. She has a breaker panel; not fuses in her 10-yr old condo.Fridges use 15 amps!!! So why 20 for a V!!! Find something else.
