Better than original
I am glad I found the 3M filters and bags for vacuums. The filters are difficult to find, and are usually inferior to the originals. Often they are just some piece of woven fabric someone has cut to shape. This is 3 real layers of high quality material. Whether or not they are truly "3 stages" of differing filtration is difficult to say. If you are looking for a final filter for your Hoover this is the one to get.
Did not fit, but could be cut.
This is the second final filter I ordered for my fold away vacuum. The material from 3M is three layers and seems to be of high quality.
My only issue is that it did not fit out of the box. The 3M filter here is 6-1/2"x3-1/4". My vacuum, a Hoover Fold Away, has a 6-1/2"x2-1/4" filter. I needed to cut/trim it, which was fine.
I should have read the fine print...
Item was exactly as described, which turned out to be the problem...lol. Had I paid a little more attention, I would have noticed that this filter is NOT for the self-propelled BUT I was convinced this is what Hoover told me to get. Anyway, since this was a 2 pack, I simply cut the 2nd one to fit and good enough for me. I just won't order this particular one again. I would recommend it if you don't have a self-propelled.
