Dyson Aftermarket Brushroll Beater Bar, DC07

Does not fit my Dyson 07 Animal
I ended up putting the original brushroll back on, as this brush roll didn't fit my dyson 07 animal (purple). The problem I had with this item is that the round part of the brush that fits into the belt, was too small to fit on the outside of the plastic part allowing that part of the brushroll to get caught and cause the brush not to roll. The item was returned to Amazon and a full refund was issued. Be sure to measure the end of the brush bar to the part where the belt fits over the brush bar before one is purchased, it will save you a lot of time. It's no fun taking off a brushroll only to have the new one not fit...

This brush roll DOES NOT fit my Dyson DC07.
There are several problems that make this brush roll totally useless for this model. One problem that is very easy to spot is in the picture. The position of where the belt attaches to the brush roll. This one has the belt position about 3.5" from the end. On the DC07 I own, the belt position on the brush roll is 2" from the end. There are other issues that make this the wrong brush roll for model DC07. The only question I have is, did Dyson change the design and make two brush rolls versions on this model?? I do not know the answer to this question. Before buying, take a close look at the picture of a genuine brush roll here on Amazon. You will see the difference.

July 30, 2012 Update. I found a video that shows a Dyson model this brush roll probably will fit. If your Dyson has the clutch with two belts, this is not the brush roll for your model. The model this brush roll "may" fit only uses one belt not two belts, and does not have the carpet/bare floor option.

Better than the original
I bought a Dyson DC07 for my wife 3 years ago. It was expensive and not worth it. The beater bar does not pull up the carpet as well as my Sears Kenmore (cost $89). I purchased the after market bar and it does seem better. I would advise anyone looking at a Dyson to shop around - there are better vacuums
