Oreck XL2000RHB 8LB Comm Up Vacuum

Not worth the money or hassle.. 10 years,3 replacements, 40 repairs
I used to be a believer in these vacuums. Not any more. We've had them for more than 10 years, and have had to replace them every 3 years or so, and have them repaired every 3 months. Something always breaks. For the record. We have 2 units in our house, and have purchased probably 6 in the past 10 years. So my views are based on substantial experience, not the first 3 weeks of a honeymoon.

Initially, we were attracted to the fact that they are supposedly "commercial", and you do occasionally see them in hotels. However, they are identical to the retail units, with the exception of the power cord and the warranty. The reason the retail units are 3 times as much money, is that they have a multi year warranty, which these vacuums need, because they break CONSTANTLY.

The Oreck people blame everyone... its the way you use it, its the cleaning people, its the kids, its bigfoot and the martians.... its everything but the lousy construction. We do have an...

Great vac and great price as well
I had an old Oreck vac and it finally needed a new motor after 25 years. I was looking at light economy vacs and they all cost more and were heavier, so I decided to get another Oreck like I had before. It works great. I like the switch on the handle so you don't have be bend down.

Overrated and expensive
I purchased the Oreck five years ago and wish I had not. I suppose that it can suck up a bowling ball. I have a dog and a cat, and the vacuum clogs rapidly. It is not easy to unclog. I have brought the vacuum in for unclogging several times. I am now looking for another vacuum and will be disposing of the Oreck XL very shortly. For the amount that a new Oreck sells for, it is vastly over priced. For its quality of performance, the price should not be more than $100 to $120.

Kirby Diamond Edition Home Cleaning System Vacuum Cleaner Refurbished

Does a great job
I bought a new Kirby last year and it does a great job. It has such powerful suction, you can see it almost lift the carpet off the floor. With the auto drive, it is very easy to push on the carpet. You can do it with one finger. It has an attachment for just about any cleaning job you want, including shampooing your carpets.

I guess my biggest complaint is that you need to take off the front part to attach and use the hose. That is really inconvenient when wanting to get at baseboards. You either finish up vacuuming, then change the hose attachment and go around to each room again and do the baseboards. Or you have to change it while in each room and back again.

My second complaint is the weight of the machine. It's heavy for a woman to carry up and down stairs, or to use cleaning the mattress.

If you don't mind the draw backs, this machine will clean like no other and should last a lifetime with few repairs.

Best sucktion out there and they last and last and last
Had Kirby G4 for over 20 years and did nothing to it besides changing the bags. Couple of years after I got the G4 I purchased a G5 as well just because they are so heavy I hate taking the think up and down the stairs - so I figured each floor has its own vacuum.

Pros-
- They last forever so even if these things are very expensive if you get 20 years of good service out of them they are worth it. There is no other vacuum out there that would go 20 years no hassle.
- THESE THINGS CLEAN!! - In terms of suction power they must be number 1!

Cons -
- Very expensive. Must order bags from Kirby and these are quite expensive to.
- Very heavy - That is a big drawback but maybe they are so heavy because they are not made of plastic so they will lasts forever.
- Do nor reach well around the baseboards. Hard to handle around corners
- Stupid system to change accessories. To complicated and time consuming.

Best Vacuum Available - Good Value As Well
Kirby vacuums are by far the best available. Dyson, and other designer vacuums, only remove a small fraction of the filth that the Kirby vacuum does. The other brands do cost less, but they do not clean much. We own a Kirby and we are glad we do. If you buy one new, do not pay more that about $1250 for it. The starting price will be much higher... about $2,400. Eventually, you can talk them down to the $1,200 range. Used Kirby vacuums are a tremendous value, though. Most older owners have experienced 25+ years of reliable use with their original vacuum. Some, even longer. We vacuum at least weekly and had never experienced a brand that survived past three years, until the Kirby. But really, the other vacuums didn't do anything but provide cosmetic improvement to the surface appearance of the carpet...very little cleaning actually took place. The Kirby vacuum cleans down to the carpet pad.

A plus is that the Kirby is 100% made in the good old U.S.A. It is made...

It is not the seller to blame. But to have a plastic tube on a vaciumcleaner does not seem to be the smartest idea. This prodoct will brake again and again with no hope in sight. For a vacium that costs 9000 $ that is steap.

Superb!!
I used the Bissell 9400 Steam cleaner.

When I did the LR carpeting with the Bissell Pet & Orange shampoo, it came out super clean...THIS IS A HIGH TRAFFIC ROOM & WAS REALLY DIRTY because the carpeting is bright tourquoise. I am so pleased now.

I mixed the two shampoos equally. Great results.
Try mixing the shampoos if you want to get better results..it worked for me & the LR has stayed clean after it dried.

went a long way for this product
We live in a brownstone with rental units, the rug gets real dirty. Recently, our boiler was changed and thirty years of rust and oil went out with the old parts. Some of that got on our rug. This product really helped bring the rug back to good looking condition. We used it in conjunction with the Bissell Carpet cleaner in the blue bottle, (kitchen), both products together did the job.

Uncle Joe's did an extra good job of delivery, even though I was out of town for a few days, the package was waiting for me on my return.

After using it for over half a year, I can't begin to explain how wonderful this vacuum is. When I first reviewed it I wrote it doesn't pick up the real small stuff because I didn't realize that you can adjust the vacuuming strength by turning the knob. it gets pretty powerful, but can also be used with moderate strength in order to keep the noise down (it is very quiet). I have guinea pigs and sometime my wife lets them run on the carpet, this vacuum picks up their hair and dropping easily (this vacuum has a carpet setting which helps it get the stuff that normally gets stuck or a little clingy out). overall very happy with the purchase, be aware that it uses vacuum bags, but I've only changed my first bag after three months of using it(I use it every day just so you get a rough idea).

Ridgid 73317 Filter Plate

Necessary equipment if you have an older Ridgid Shop Dry Vac
You'll need to pick one of these up if you have an older Ridgid Wet/Dry vac. I had the 8 gallon Ridgid WD 0800 Wet/Dry vac and the filter it came with had an integrated filter plate. I tried to cut the old one out and use it with the new filter but that was a fool's errand. The new one makes the vacuum actually work as intended. Thanks Filter Plate!

picture has 2 filters but you are only buying 1 filter. This is misleading since by paying less than a dollar more you can buy 2 elsewhere.

Package of One
It's a vacuum cleaner filter, so there's not much interesting to say; it works as advertised. It needs to be noted, though, that although the picture is of a 2-pack, this is a package of one.

Filters
Just like the ones that originally came with the vacum. I never washed my old ones, so I don't plan on washing these, will just get new ones if my vacum is still running by then.

Readivac 36010 Tiny Turbo 1000-Watt Canister Vacuum, Red

Amazing Little Thing
I purchased this vacuum to replace my Oreck Ironman which I have owned and LOVED for nearly 20 years. I even had the motor replaced when Oreck stopped making it. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever so one day while searching the internet for a replacement I found this Readivac which looked just like my beloved Ironman. More research uncovered that it is exactly the same vacuum w/ the same great features and power.

It is perfect for hardwood floors and light enough to maneuver on the stairs. On board tools are great, cord is long enough to make it up or down a full flight of stairs, and it is absolutely the best vacuum for cleaning the car, the crevice tool makes getting between the seat / console a breeze! It is in use daily in our house!

The only down side is that the bags are small, expensive and fill quickly but this was nothing new as was such w/ the Oreck. STILL WORTH THE PURCHASE at less than 1/2 the price of my original Ironman!

works well enough
I bought this vacuum to use on our carpeted stairs and it works reasonably well for that. It has lots of suction and I thought it was quiet enough. The wide attachment is a bit awkward to use, seems like it always turns the wrong direction. It would be nice to have a easier way to store the long cord, like a retractable cords. It works best for hard to reach places, for the car, and on tile floors. This vacuum comes with lifetime replacement bags. You will pay $3.50 Handling for every five bags you order.

Light, powerful
Just received and tried. Vac is really light, really powerful, nice looking. Picks up dust no problem. Drawbacks: paper dust bag is small; probably it will require replacement once a week. Still unknown how much is 'lifetime dust bag replacement' for delivery. I let you know when I know. Hose is made of plastic, so, a lot of dust on it after vacuuming. In general, not bad for cleaning stairs, for example. Joseph

Hoover 42272083 Dirty Water Tank

Cheaper feel than original
This tank works in my Hoover F7410-900 -- but compared to the original it feels a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER MADE.

The plastic seems to be flimsier and definitely lesser quality than the original, the handle is spring loaded to close which is somewhat annoying - but it does work.

Hoover Ultra Carpet-Cleaning Kit, 40304010

Great kit - even better price!
I have a Hoover All-Terrain carpet cleaner. I set out, last year, to get some more of the Ultra detergent and found this kit. The 16oz bottle of Ultra detergent, BY ITSELF, was costing MORE than this entire kit (which includes a 32oz bottle) at that time.

The items in the kit are mentioned in the description. You just cannot beat getting it all in a kit like this. The products work very well. As the other reviewer said, it is not strongly scented. That is extremely important in my household. On one hand I do need products that work well and on the other hand, because of my breathing problems and the fact that we have a bird, I just cannot use strong-smelling detergents.

I just ordered two more kits. To do a good portion of my house it takes up almost 32oz of the detergent, so I like to keep extra on hand. The spray, wipes, and spot cleaner are very handy too and if you store them in a cool closet they will be good for a very long time.

Hoover Ultra Carpet Cleaning Kit
This is an excellent cleaner for my Hoover carpet steam cleaner! It came with a spot spray which also works quite well. The scent is not overwhelming for either of the products, I am quite pleased, and will buy more when this supply runs out.

Dyson DC24 All Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner - REFURBISHED

Remember it is refurbished..
We saw the great price and went for it. It is powerful for the size and we only needed it for the area rugs and hallway carpet. I love the swivel action for corners and under kitchen table chairs. It did have a moment after the 3rd use where I had to check the brush head for hair clumps and remove them. However, I keep reminding myself that it has been pulled apart and rebuilt with spare parts so I should expect minor defects. Other than that it has worked very well. It's so compact you can stick it in your closet or under the bed.

Refurbished but works like new!
I love my dyson vacuum! It works great and we use it all the time! So glad we decided to purchase as refurbished as opposed to new!

Excellent Small Vacuum and No Worries About it being Refurbished
First let me address this item being refurbished. It came in amazing condition and looked brand new. I haven’t had a single problem with it. I am no stranger to taking a chance on refurbished items and I was definitely not disappointed. If one is available, don’t hesitate because its refurbished, just get it.

We have two bedrooms that get vacuumed regularly, along with a set of stairs and a few fairly small area rugs. I bought the DC24 thinking that was all I would be vacuuming. Well, I clearly underestimated just how great this thing is on hardwood floors, so now I wish I had the DC25. Don’t get me wrong, I love this vacuum and would recommend it anyone who is looking for something small and compact, but if you have an entire house, the DC25 will likely be a better fit. The main drawback is that I have to empty the canister after each room, because it really is fairly small and this thing takes up so much dirt, dust and debris that it if fills it...

SHARK Shark Handheld Bagless Vacuum - 800 Watt - Hepa Filter - V15Z-FS

OVERHEATS, WEAK SUCTION, LOUD AS ALL GET OUT
This is a monstrosity. The suction is weak and it overheats after five minutes of use. Trying to empty the canister is a pain. the decibel level is ungodly despite it's soft-suck performance. Little pieces of cookie crumbs feel safe and secure on my floor when this blue basterd approaches. For they know, their minuscule weight is still too heavy for the mighty Shark: The Pride of Wal-Mart. Mine didn't even come with the crevice tool even though it said it was included on the box. The vacuum itself is heavy and the detachable hose is about one foot long. It feels like I am trying to vacuum the stairs with a baby elephant or a well endowed midget. Garbage, garbage, garbage! I rue the day I bought this piece of junk! God save us all!

Cannot get basic parts like a belt
The beater bar clogs up with dirt and hair as any vacuum will. However, you have to take screws out to remove the bar and clean it. Had something jam in the belt and eventually burned up the belt after only about 2 months of use.

You can't buy this belt anywhere, except by calling customer support on the phone. Took the first one back to the store sans belt and got a new one. I guess I have to keep doing this until they start carrying the belts somewhere you can get them.

Sorry shark, you dropped the ball on this one big time. CS stated that they don't sell enough of the parts to stock them in stores. However, these things are flying off the shelves. But they are going to loose their market if they don't carry parts.

Next time make sure you can get parts before you buy.

Bad belt design
This was a powerful little vacuum for a week or so until the belt broke. The instruction manual doesn't even mention a belt, let alone show how to change one or get a replacement. Finally someone in India tried to explain it to me on the phone. It is not only complicated but the belts cost almost 1/3 what I paid for the unit. Also their website does not support it. In disgust I've tossed the unit.

15 F,J,M bags by envirocare designed to fit MIELE

Been using these for a couple of years. They're great. No issues.
Work just as well as the tiny, costly Miele bags. I use these with my Miele vaccuum and have had absolutely no problems. The decision comes down to whether you want to pay $5 or $6 for one Miele brand bag, or $2.50 for a bigger bag that you don't change as often and works just as well. Up to you.

DIRT DEVIL EasyLite 7.2V Cordless Hand Vac

Devil's in the details
I purchased two of these, but for only $20 each, minus a 5 percent discount that comes with my Target Debit Card. One for upstairs and one for down. They replaced two similar units, same maker, I had for many years. They outlived their filters. They are just the best at quick pick ups and will even grab lint tangled in the carpet.

You must follow the directions and charge the battery the first time a full 24 hours, otherwise the battery may indeed not last long, but the battery should work for the duration of the warranty at leas. After several weeks I'm still on my first charge and I use it several times or more a week. I expect them to last years beyond the 1-year warranty if my first two are any indication.

most pathetic battery life ever
Bought this to clean out my car. Worked fine...for the 5 minutes it lasted. I've tried charging it since and it can't seem to hold a charge for more than a few seconds. I've read elsewhere that you're supposed to charge it for 24 hours, which is ridiculous, and that even then the charge won't last more than 7 minutes. Do NOT waste your money on this piece of crap.

Battery does not last long
Bought this model at a retail store less than a year ago and now the battery only lasts about 2 minutes, if that. I'm now going through Amazon's reviews to find a better one.

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner, 9200

Happy to own this unit...
This is the first machine I have owned; however, it is among many I have borrowed over many years.

Assembling and acquainting myself with it took only 10 minutes.

I was very happy to buy this unit as the cleaning solution and water vessels are separate. So, I can rinse my carpets after cleaning them.

The heating unit works in just one minute after filling the water bladder and placing it back on the deep cleaner. Then...you are off and cleaning your carpets.

Using it on a 12' x 12' bedroom and a 14' x 25' great room was pretty easy and pleasureable. The result was perfection in a spotless carpet! Most importantly, a spotless carpet with little shampooing residue left behind compared to other cleaners.

Why not 5 stars as a rating from me?...Well, the following are the issues I have but am willing to deal with:

Hoover and Bissell side by side comparison
After owning Hoovers, I recently tried this model. I have been generally happy with my last two Hoover carpet cleaners and they have been durable for me. I used both TONS -- the 1st one was a very early model that was still going strong after 5 or 6 years of hard use, and I replaced it with one that had rotating brushes. It also got years of use but I accidentally damaged it thru my negligence. (Used it in an unheated cabin, left it overnight, and it got well below freezing - I broke the spray trigger when I impatiently tried to use it.) My last one still worked if you pushed the surge button and then pried it up again, but I decided to get a new one.

I purchased the Hoover 914-900, but it leaked before even starting to use it, so I returned it and bought a Bissell Proheat 2x. I liked that it seemed easier to clean the machine than the Hoovers, and that it had a rinse option, although not conveniently located. I noticed immediately with first use that it wasn't as good as...

Good but has a couple quirks
Others have gone into very good detail about this machine so I won't go over that again. What I will add, however, is that there are a couple weird things about this carpet cleaner that I didn't expect.

The first is that if you have pets you will have to go back and pick up clumps of hair - even if you've just ran the vacuum cleaner. This is a good/bad situation as it's good that it's getting up all the hair that the vacuum cleaner missed but it's also a pain in the back (literally) to have to bend over every minute or two to pick up clumps of hair or risk clogging up the carpet cleaner with hair. We've lived in this house for 2 1/2 years and have had 2 cats the whole time, 2 dogs for 2 of those years so we expected some pet hair. We've ran the vacuum cleaner twice a week on average ever sinced we moved in, however, so you may not have that problem if you don't have as many animals as we have.

BISSELL Healthy Home Vacuum, 16N53

BUSSELL Healthy Home Vacuum
I purchased this vacuum directly from Sylvane (instead of going through Amazon) since I had a coupon. The coupon was $20, which brought the price from $199.99 to $179.99. I see that Amazon is now matching the lower price. I like this vacuum a lot. We bought it because our old Vacuum sucked up a screw buried in the carpet and it destroyed the impeller blade. (In the old vacuum, the air flow started at the floor, through the impeller and then into the bag/filter. I wanted a vacuum that the air flow went from the floor through the filter and then through the impeller and then out into the room. This has two advantages which are demonstrated in the Healthy Home Vacuum. First, I vacuumed the entire house and there was no layer of dust generated. Since the bag/filter section is in the suction path, all the dust stays in the vacuum. The second advantage is that small objects won't get stuck in the impeller and cause destruction.

The vacuum is lighter than my old vacuum...

very powerful
My sister has owned this vac for three years no problems. I have owned the healthy home vac for 1.5 years no problems at all.
This is flat out the most powerful and versatile machine I have ever owned and I am 51 years old. It has tremedous suction. The upolstery rotating brush attachment runs very powerful. All the attachments are fabulous along with the long power cord.
I tried a dirt devil and returned it for this machine. The dirt devil was a complete failure.
The only down fall of healthy homes vac is it is very heavy. It really pulls up the nap. Push it before you buy and make sure you can handle the weight. Highly recommended !!!

Best vacuum for removing pet hair from rugs
I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase this vacuum after borrowing my friend's to remove the imbedded dog hair from my large area rugs and hardwood floors. It is amazing in picking up the hairs that my other vacuums left in the rugs after using them. It works! My dog sheds like crazy and this does the trick.

Metapo Infinuvo QQ2 Economy Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Red

Not as good as Roomba
One review described it best. The Roomba is more a aggressive cleaner.
Just a feel of the brush on the Infinuvo and you can tell. The brush is very soft.
It can't pick up the more difficult stuff that a Roomba can pickup.
Also, there is a rubber flap on the bottom which is suppose to help
direct the dirt to the vacuum, but the flap sometimes flips and blocks the
vacuum port. I would buy this again. I'm looking for another Roomba on sale.

worked well for awhile
This vacuum worked well for awhile. It was able to go over thicker carpet and clean pretty well. Then it slowly started to decline. It stopped moving well over thicker carpet, it started to get stuck everywhere, even when there was truly nothing in it's way...then it would ONLY start vacuuming if I started it with the remote. Now, it no longer works at all. I think I've had it about a year. I have bad cat allergies and I'm not about to dump my cats that I've had for 15 years...so I thought this would be a great way to help me, with my air filter and allergy meds...I will not buy this again. I will buy a more expensive one that will hopefully last longer than a year.

I looked at a lot of other vacuums before choosing this one. It SEEMED to be built well and the design/engineering would be very handy and effective. I got it home and was amazed at how well it picked up dirt. To my disappointment however, after a week of use, it started to malfunction. First, I noticed the brush roller seemed to stop spinning on carpet. Then shortly afterward, the vacuum would shut itself off repeatedly after the first couple minutes of operation. The manual says this vacuum is designed to shut itself off when there is a blockage inside it to prevent overheating. Well I checked and rechecked for a blockage, cleaned the filter and brush roll but it still did the same thing. I contacted Electrolux customer service and they would not admit this was a common problem nor would they tell me if there was a fix for this problem but if you research reviews on other web sites, it appears to be happening quite often. Won't last
The first one lasted about two months and then the roller brush stopped working correctly. I took it back to the store and they gave me a new vacuum. Then two months later, the roller brush stopped working on the second one. One of the end caps on the roller brush was bad. I called the company and they sent me a new one but while putting in the new roller I noticed the belt had started to fall apart. The belt was less than two months old and half of the rubber was warn away. So, I returned it for a full refund. Bottom line is this vacuum has great suction but is not built to last. I am now shopping for a new vacuum.

Brush roller
I've had the same problem as other reviewers. The brush roller on mine stopped working after less than a month. The end cap on one side had melted. I called the company and they sent a new one. After about a month and a half the check brush roll light came on. The problem seems to be the way the end cap is designed it lets hair get in there and stop it from spinning. I decided to be diligent about cleaning out the hair, since I only vacuum one 5x8 rug I figured I'd take it apart once a month and clean it out. I guess that wasn't enough because it only took two weeks this time. The end cap is melted again and I'll need to buy a new one.

Defective Battery
Received the battery but it would not charge. After charging the battery the first time, the Roomba ran for only 10 minutes then died. Charged the battery a second time and the Roomba would not run at all. The Amazon seller Sellbuz was slow to respond to my request for a return and refund. I was eventually refunded the cost of the battery but not the shipping. So, I am out the lost time and the $4.95 shipping through no fault of my own. Doesn't seem right. If I had purchased directly from Amazon, I would have been refunded the cost of shipping. I won't buy from Sellbuz again.

Perfect for my antique Roomba
Absolutely perfect drop in fit. Get charging instruction off the Roomba Internet website. Far greater capacity than the original that came with my unit.

Excellent Steam Mop
We previously used the Shark Steam and Vac, and thought it was a little excessive having the vacuum function. It only had one small opening at the bottom in the center, which didn't make it good for picking anything up in the corners. We still had to use a regular vacuum for that.

So this time we thought we wouldn't waste our time with the vacuum function, and we clearly made the right decision. The steam mop itself works much better than mop function of the Steam and Vac because the tank holds more water, and the pocket head has much more space you can use for mopping. When one side has been used, you can roll the mop over and use the other side. There are also a lot more options you have with this one about attachments and functions, which is very nice.

If you're looking for a steam mop, then Shark is the way to go. I personally recommend this model. We are very pleased.

Okay, but I liked my old Shark better.
Works fine, steam seems to last longer than my first shark, but it doesn't seem to be as easy to push or navigate in tight places.

Animal Mini Tabletop Vacuum - Cow

Moo!
When I was a child, many moons ago, my mother had a crumb roller that she used over our tablecloth when we had company. Although I did see something like that here on Amazon, I do remember it having problems containing the crumbs. It would defeat its purpose.

Then I saw this adorable battery operated cow vacuum. It takes 2 AA batteries that are easily put in and it is very simple to empty out. I even used it on my tower fan filter to get the dust off and it worked like a charm.

I have a Yorkie who loves to eat her crunchy food on the bed. This vacuum is perfect for those crumbs. I love this vacuum.

Vacuumns
I gave five of these little desk vacuumns as gifts for my crafter friends. They were well-received. They are just so cute and the really work cleaning up paper bits.

Just a toy
Think of it as a toy or a talking piece... it works with just enough suction to pick-up small "small" very light weight stuff.

Cleans Drapes/Bedspresads without sucking them into the vauum
I've used the product, it does work, I would have gave it 5 stars but it has too many holes in it, I put some clear packing tape to reduce the holes on the ends to get a little more stronger suction, It well, gets the dust or lint off your curtains/shower curtain/bedspreads, made of plastic but I think it's well made. I've used mine probably 6 times. "Curtains are the worst for collecting dust and dust mites, Bedspreads are the worst for breathing in dust while you are sleeping.

Doesn't Work
This attachment doesn't work as it is claimed to. It's not worth any price. I don't recommend it...I'm sorry I wasted my money on it.

Yeah, "Perfect for Touch ups" if you have a 3 inch round wrinkle somewhere, this might help. Doing a whole sleeve for a dress shirt would require a refill and a lot of patience. You press the button and it steams for 3 seconds. Wait for 4 seconds. Repeat. Sometimes you hold it down too long so it doesn't steam but sprays water all over your garment.

If I had to do it over again, I'd get the floor model that can go on sale for as much as this retail.

Kirby Gsix G6 Generation 6 Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Kirby vacuum excellent
I ordered it on line and got the Kirby in three days instead of five. I love my Kirby ! It is a sturdy Machine, good suction, easy to operate, has a long cord, easy to maneuver.
I've had a heritage II,for years then got a G 4 in 1997 and now a G 6 in 2013. I wouldn't have anything else.
By the time you spend money on a regular vacuum that only last a few years. You would be better off buying a Kirby and have it for years, and years.

Have used mine for years.. Would not consider any other brand. Suction is great, easy to use, self propelled, and an attachment for anything. It's not made from crappy plastic like all others. Buy this brand and you won't need to buy another for many, many years to come.......unless you use it like a shop vac.

Grandi Groom

Not for pet hair
This product may be good for the care of the carpet pile, but is totally useless for picking up ANYTHING. The slick nylon bristles do not pick up pet hair at all; they simply spread it around. Very disappointed based on the description given.

Great Product!
I bought the Grandi Groom after reading about carpet rakes on Lifehacker.com. I was amazed at the result from the first time I used the product. I generally rake my carpet twice, once before vacuuming to raise the nap to expose the dirt and again after vacuuming for a final fluff and to get the vacuum streaks out. My guests are always amazed at how good my carpet looks and think I must have some type of special vacuum. Invariably they have never heard of using a carpet rake. Trust me, if you want your carpet to look good and last longer, rake it.

Kenmore 2 in 1 Cordless Handheld and Stick Vacuum

Almost worthless
I had high hopes for this vacuum as I really liked the fact that it was cordless and had a power brush for cleaning rugs, but the brush is wimpy and the suction is so poor that even if you turn it over and try to manually feed something into it, it spits it back out again. The detachable handheld vacuum works okay when not attached to the main vacuum- that about all I can say in favor of this machine. Otherwise it is a complete waste of money. I'm returning mine.

Super Conviennent, but short lived
I clean my bare floors super easily with this vacuum. And with the charger station it's always ready to go. The hand vacuum easily unsnaps for convenient cleaning of my car and harder to reach places.

Update: Purchased in March, died in September. It's the battery or the motor or something. Sad, since it was so convenient.

Bad Choice
Nearly impossible to separate handheld from stick. Doesn't pick up anything larger than dust. Difficult to maneuver - stiff. Difficult to attach to stand. I actually give it 1/2 star; all it does is turn on.

Frigidaire 008449 PU-7502 Central Vacuum

Bought to replace motor for vac installed 40 years ago and it works perfectly. Love the large capacity for all the hair our Corgi sheds.

powerful
This is a powerful vac. I am using it for an area approximately 3000 sf, but all single level.

One issue that I found was that when I was vacuuming foam powder, that the filter was not fine enough to prevent it from coming out of the exhaust pipe (old powdered foam was out of 17 year old sofa set that I was ripping out - where sofa foam cushion eroded to power form).

However, for typical home debris like dust, food partials, paper cuttings, etc, it is perfect. However, if you are vacuuming fine dust like I just mentioned above or another example may be printer toner power spill, then the out-of-box filter is not fine enough. I am sure one can find a HIPPA filter or another fine grain filter to prevent that.

Great Vacuum
This is by far the best vacuum I have ever owned! You can't go wrong with a commercial, light weight, direct air-flow vacuum cleaner with all the attachments for home use. With an airflow or CFM (cubic feet per minute)at 94, it is comparable to other expensive vacuums on the market (Oreck is about a 95 CFM). The price is right and the Suction/air-flow are exceptional! This is a must have vacuum cleaner for commercial or home use.

Actually a pretty nice household vacuum
The front panel says "COMMERCIAL Lightweight," which means this is neither as heavy nor as rugged as more serious commercial machines. That actually makes it a pretty decent household vacuum. It feels more solid than most vacuums you'd find at a store. It's very maneuverable on the floor and light enough that most people could probably lift it without any trouble. As a commercial model, it doesn't have many bells or whistles; there's not even a headlight. It does have a long cord and a standard set of attachments. It's great at cleaning carpets and leaves them looking clean and fluffed. The bag is large and easy to change; much easier and cleaner in my opinion to dumping out a bin. Changing the belt is complicated, though.

"Commercial" ... Not worth the extra money
Like all electronics these days, this thing only lasted us for 2 years before the motor completely failed. It is horrendously loud (we had to put cotton in our ears before using it), and it does no better or worse a job than any other vacuum we have ever owned - and we've owned many. With a revolving lineup of dogs and cats in our house, we thought there might be an advantage to purchasing the "commercial" version of this vac. We also anticipated that it might last longer. Oh nay nay. It just cost more for the same unreliable technology that goes into everything these days. Obsolescence is built right in! Save yourself some money - go check Consumer Reports for a good low cost vacuum. They all last about the same amount of time (which is really short by any reasonable person's standards), and are generally poorly made overall. Don't think that's true? Why are you shopping for a vacuum? :)...

The belt is working so far, but it didn't come in the Eureka bag as was pictured, it came loose with a note saying it was being sent loose because it was obtained cheaper in bulk. Seller responded to queries and claimed it was genuine without any proof or way for me to know. There is no number/name on the belt, etc.

best nonOEM rplcmt battery for roomba
i have 4 big indoor dogs. i own a lot of roombas (among other cleaning/steaming/vacuuming devices). i have 5 4xxx series 'bots in service at present. i've gone through quite a few OEM/iRobot rplcmt batteries as well as nonOEM ones. being compulsive, i sharpie the date on the battery when i start using it. none of my OEM batteries have made it to a yr.(they lose the ability to hold a charge). of all the nonOEM brands i've tried, HQRP runs the longest (how long i can run a 'bot on a fully charged battery) and lasts the longest, usually 10-12 months (about the same as iRobot, maybe a tad longer) and quite a bit longer than the other generics (about 6-8 months for those). have never found a use for the free coasters though.

Hoover V2 Steamvac Brush Block with 5 Brush

Well, they're the same brushes as the ones that came with my Hoover V2, except they're brand new as opposed to really dirty and worn out (my old brushes). Replacement's very easy - just pull out the old, insert the new. Voila!

Although, I think I'll take this opportunity to alert some folks as to what seems to be a popular misconception with the Hoover V2 and like machines made by competitors like Bissel: THESE ARE NOT STEAM CLEANERS!! They are carpet shampooers. No "steam" is involved. They work by spritzing the surface of your carpet with hot water (if you used hot water to fill the reservoir) and carpet shampoo, using the brush assembly to agitate the carpet surface and loosen up dirt and grime, and then applying a strong wet/dry vacuum (suction) to the surface to remove the loose dirt with the cleaning solution. Does what it needs. Hard to clean though.
The previous version of the brush had an easy open construction that allowed me to open it to thoroughly clean it after each use. That new one has new locks which are too risky to open and I have to clean it using a piece of wire.

Filters are a little short.
The filters are not quite tall enough and so they don't stay in very well when you try to put the dust bin back in the vacuum. They also have a little thinner filter on them.

These work great
I've used a couple of the filters from the pack I ordered and have zero issues with them. They fit tightly on the bin. Yes, they are thinner than the original filters that came with the unit, but at half the price for double the amount, who cares! They work great and frankly, if they get nasty looking, I just put a new one on. Good value for the money. I have a 2 giant shedding dogs and a multi cat household and can't live without my neato!

Sorry - Not good ones
They look the same but will not work ok. They do not click in well enough to even put the dust cup back in the machine. That will teach me for not buying the brand name, I guess.
